Sony WH-1000XM5

“wherease these managed background sound much better and they tend to feel much more controlled as well”

“then the XM5s microphone system definitely outperforms the ULT Wear.”

“this microphone does a pretty decent job”

“these headphones in particular are some of my favorites and I know that they are some of the industry leading in noise cancelling. These are none other than the Sony WH-1000XM5s”

“If you're after a premium listening experience with incredible sound quality, world-class noise cancellation, and all-day comfort, the Sony WH-1000XM5 is hands down the winner.”

“However, if you're more into the ANC segment or better sound quality in general, you need to add a few more bugs and get the 1000XM5”

“the XM5 has six hours more battery life at 30 hours compared to 24 hours on the QuietComfort 2023.”

“The simple fast battery top-up feature of both headphones allows for 3 hours of battery life with just 3 minutes of plugged-in time.”

“Sony actually smokes Apple. You're getting up to 30 hours on the XM6 opposed to 20 hours on the AirPods Max.”

“my first impressions of the XM5s sound quality is really good; the bass was exceptional, but it could sometimes overpower the vocals and make everything sound muffled.”

“Both support LDAC for high-resolution audio and both benefit from EQ tweaking, but the XM5 offers better out-of-the-box performance.”

“If I have an Android phone, these to me are among the absolute best-sounding noise-canceling wireless headphones available.”

“This is why I think the M5 is going to be one of the best headphones I've ever used even though I haven't fully used it yet.”

“The Sony WH-1000XM5 is the smarter purchase for 90% of people. It is cheaper, often found on sale for well under $350, and offers a more customizable sound, a mature app, and bulletproof reliability.”

“You can also connect to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously, making it easy to switch between a laptop for work and a phone for calls.”

“I mentioned that the connectivity was actually really quite surprising. It was able to go to the other side of my house and maintain a connection.”

“It intelligently switches if a call comes in on your phone while you're listening to your laptop. Super convenient, no fiddling around.”

“You pick these up, it's almost like picking up pillows like a just a set of pillows that you're just going to put over your ears for a while.”

“But the XM5 includes bonus software features like Find My Device support and more precise ANC customization.”

“Now the saving grace to the XM5 is customizable EQ using the app.”

“Sony blows Bose out of the water when it comes to app features. The Sony Sound Connect app is just packed full of features that allow you to really customize the XM6 headphones to your liking.”

“I slightly prefer the way Sony goes about it. Their speak-to-chat feature is cool and you can place your hand over an ear cup like this and transparency mode kicks in.”

“With its speak-to-chat feature, the XM5 allows you to talk with someone at the gym or a coffee shop without removing the headphones.”

“Sony has always had a really good sounding ambient mode. It's not as natural sounding as the AirPods Max, but it's a close second.”

“the touch responsiveness is very good”
